Doughnuts Delight |
For God so loved the world that he gave his one
and only Son,that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal live. John 3:16 (NIV) |
If you are that guy or gal who brings in doughnuts to the office every morning, you may want to listen in this conversation. Doughnuts are a great way to break the ice in a new office, or lift your fellow employees' tensions with a sweet treat in the early morning hours. While it may seem special to just bring this food in from your nearest convenient or doughnut shop, think how special it is if you actually made the doughnuts yourself.
Here is a great recipe to try out with your family or for your friends:
Pumpkin Doughnuts with Spiced Sugar Doughnut Holes
This doughnut recipe is for the more sophisticated doughnut lover, and for those who are fond of eating holes. For ingredients you will need a cup of sugar, four teaspoons of ground cinnamon, two teaspoons for ground nutmeg, three and a half cups of flour, four teaspoons of baking powder, a teaspoon of salt and cinnamon, a half teaspoon of ground ginger and baking soda, an eighth teaspoon of ground cloves and nut meg, another cup of sugar, three tablespoon of butter, one egg, two yokes, a teaspoon of vanilla extract, a half cup of buttermilk, a cup of canned pumpkin, canola oil, two cups of powdered sugar, and whipping cream.
First you need to make the spiced sugar, with the sugar cinnamon and nutmeg. This will be baked right into the doughnuts. To make the doughnuts you need all the dry ingredients, mixed well in a bowl. Then whisk in the eggs, vanilla, buttermilk, and pumpkin. This should congeal into a thicker mixture. After this refrigerate and chill for three hours.
Next get a cookie sheet and dust it with the flour. Take a third of fourth of the dough and cut out circles to place on the sheet. Do the rest on more cookie sheets. Next you need to line the cookie sheets with paper towels, to soak up the oil, with you need to pour over the dough. You should probably attach a deep-fry thermometer so you know when it reaches 370F. Lastly, fry each doughnut for about two minutes, constantly turning them over. The very last flourish is for the glaze. Mix the powdered sugar, and whipping cream together. You need to spread them on the doughnuts and let them sit for about twenty minutes.
