Have Fun Drinking- The Bubble Tea Motto! |
|
|
Because it was such a challenging drink, it had to have a challenging name. This is why many attempts have been made until one name stood in front of the others.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one
and only Son,that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal live. John 3:16 (NIV) |
Bubble tea has a very interesting history down to its name. The original drink was made out of condensed milk, honey, tapioca balls and the special ingredient was a type of tea that could only be found in Taiwan. As this drink started to become more and more popular, changes were needed to make this tea much more interesting and fun. Many liked the original drink but felt that something was missing so they demanded more and more from this unique drink. This is how boba tea became iced and then more flavors started to be added. Some of the most popular flavors include: taro, coconut, strawberry, mango, passion fruit, and milk tea. The fun you could have both creating and drinking this amazing tea were endless. Somewhere along the way this tea drink actually became tea-less because the imagination of the people was so rich.
The name has its own history as well. Because of the complexity of ingredients used, picking a name for this drink was difficult. Moreover, it had to be a catchy name that represented this fun drink. Big pearl, after the tapioca balls found in the drink, milk tea or pearl tea were some of the first names given to this tasty, rich drink. In the end the name that stuck to this drink was bubble tea or boba tea for short.
For those who want to enjoy the original taste of this crazy drink, there are still some places where the original recipe of the drink can be found with only minor alterations. Tapioca is still the main ingredient, mixed with sweetened tea, that can be either hot or iced and milk. If you want, various additional flavors can also be added.
The important thing that has not changed over the years is that bubble tea or boba tea is the same tasty, fun to make and drink beverage that everybody loved. Nothing essential has been changed because the success that it had was due to its original taste.
